Originally hailing from Sapmi, far above the arctic circle Per Ivars Orkester were founded way back in 1995. Their twisted mix of dubious psycho punk and garage rock maddness brings their audiences to a new level of instant punk happiness.

They have played at festivals, in the mountains, at snowboard competitions, in pubs and at sea, but their biggest dream is still to play for a pure alien audience (although they seem to have been pretty close on more than one occasion).
Their debut EP "From The Other Side Of The Sparkling Dang", released in 1997 has been distributed through out space, above and below the arctic circle.
In 2000 they released the single "Sinners Club" on limited edition 7" vinyl.
A live version of Pale Blue Sun recorded at Riddu Riddu in 1996 has also been released on Riddu's ten year anniversary compilation.

After a long pause PIO have recently been heard on the tribute to Joachim (Jokke) Nielsen "Det beste for meg og mine venner" (2005) as well as the Absolute Hausmania Vol 1 compilation from 2004
They have recently re entered the studio and are currently working on a full length album that should be out before the summer 2007.

Per Ivars Orkester have also featured as the backing band for Geir Tore Holm, a truly wacky project that involves cover versions of amongst others Elvis, Velvet Underground and Johnny Cash into Sami. Not for the weak hearted musical snob, GTH band sounds perfectly awful, -and they know it.
